From a cooler, higher‑elevation site, it delivers bright citrus, white stone fruit, and striking limestone minerality with racy acidity and beautifully restrained oak. Elegant, focused, and very much in demand, this is a benchmark modern white Burgundy that drinks well now but will reward cellaring.

"The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Champs Gain ler Cru has a more austere bouquet with crushed stone and almost flinty scents mingling with the citrus fruit. Again, there is plenty of energy here. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, fine energy and poise. It is less flattering than some of Moreau's other cuvées, but there is a pleasant bitterness right on the finish.
