Anthill Farms Abbey-Harris Vineyard Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, USA 2019

Our first vineyard site and the one we’ve farmed from the start, Abbey Harris is true Autumn wine in character. It takes a bit of air and reflection to see what it has to offer. This extraordinarily rocky site with chunks of quartz throughout. The rockiness is reflected in its profile, with aromas of hot stones, Maraschino Cherries, dried penny royal. It is elegant, with a structure that begs for patience and, with some more air, the texture and flavors of white pepper and orange peel emerge with gaining intensity. Fresh and lively acidity bodes well for drinking over the next dozen years.
