Benedicte & Stephane Tissot Arbois Chardonnay Patchwork, Jura, France 2023
Arbois Chardonnay “Patchwork” 2023 is an elegant and approachable expression of Jura Chardonnay with vibrant fruit, lively acidity, and beautifully integrated minerality. Bright citrus, orchard fruit, and subtle floral notes are framed by a refreshing, focused palate and a long, clean finish. A superb choice for lovers of terroir-driven whites, it pairs wonderfully with seafood, creamy poultry dishes, and goat cheeses — an everyday drinker with depth and character.
"The 2023 Patchwork Chardonnay was produced with grapes from clay (60%) and limestone (40%) soils and aged in barrel for one year. 2023 was also warm, but the wine is fresher than the 2022, partially because of the good yields that produced fine-boned musts. The idea is to show the Jura, which is a blend of terroirs, in a white that is tasty, balanced and with a sense of ripe fruit. Fermentation of Chardonnay is increasingly difficult in warm vintages like 2022 and 2023, while Savagnin has easier fermentations." Wine Advocate 92+
