A single-vineyard Chianti Classico Riserva from one of Radda in Chianti’s most respected traditional estates, Doccio a Matteo is made from 100% Sangiovese grown at high elevation and aged in large neutral oak. The 2019 offers lifted aromas of sour cherry, red currant, violet, dried herbs, and earthy spice, with a refined, structured palate marked by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. Precise, elegant, and built for long aging, this is a classic, old-school Chianti Classico Riserva that highlights the finesse and minerality of Radda terroir.

"A smaller production compared to the Caparsino, with just 6,700 bottles made, the organic Caparsa 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Doccio a Matteo is 98% Sangiovese with a 2% splash of Colorino. The wine is fermented with spontaneous yeasts and aged in smaller oak cask for the most part with a little percentage of the wine finishing in cement. It shows a dark garnet color with aromas of spicy fruit, plum, blackberry and cherry liqueur. It closes with sweet tannins and medium-rich concentration." Wine Advocate 94
