Colonel E.H. Taylor 'Cured Oak' Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey, Kentucky, USA
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Cured Oak
A highly collectible limited-release bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery. The 2026 edition is a 10-year-old, Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). What makes it special is the barrel: the white-oak staves were air-dried for 13 months, more than twice Buffalo Trace’s normal curing period, allowing the wood to develop deeper, more refined flavors before the bourbon ever entered the barrel.
The result is a rich, oak-driven bourbon with notes of vanilla, toffee, dried fig, tobacco and seasoned oak, finishing long and dry. It originally appeared in 2015 as a 17-year-old and disappeared for more than a decade; the 2026 release is a distinct 10-year interpretation of the same cured-oak concept.
