Chassagne‑Montrachet 1er Cru “Morgeot – La Cardeuse” Rouge 2023 is a finely detailed, terroir‑driven Pinot Noir from one of Morgeot’s more limestone‑influenced parcels. The wine shows lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, cranberry, and rose petal, with subtle notes of spice and crushed stone. On the palate it is elegant and precise rather than powerful, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a savory, mineral‑tinged finish. Very much in Alex Moreau’s restrained, transparent style, this is a refined, Burgundian red that balances charm and structure and should age beautifully.
