Grands-Échezeaux Grand Cru 2024

This is a very rare and exciting addition to Anne Gros’s lineup. Her Grands-Échezeaux comes from just 36 ares (0.36 ha), in the heart of the Grand Cru, between Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux. It is only the third vintage bottled under the Anne Gros name, making the 2024 particularly collectible. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, from deep, rocky calcareous/marl soils rich in small fossils. The 2024 shows black cherry, red currant, violet, rose, sweet spices, pomegranate, cocoa and peony, with a wonderfully velvety, sapid palate and chalky, persistent finish. Anne Gros uses native-yeast fermentation and large 500-liter French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new wood for the Grand Cru. The wine is built for long aging, with the domaine’s 2024 showing the combination of concentration and freshness that makes the vintage so compelling despite its very low yields.

A seriously rare, first-generation collector bottle from Anne Gros, combining Grand Cru power with the perfume and finesse that define her style. If you’re comparing the 2024 Anne Gros lineup, Richebourg is the more powerful and sensual wine; Grands-Échezeaux is the more balanced, elegant and complete bottle.
