Domaine Antonin Guyon Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice, Cote de Nuits, France 2022
The Antonin Guyon estate—one of Burgundy’s most prestigious—extends across some of the most renowned vineyards of the Côte d’Or. Owned by the Guyon family, whose roots in the wine trade stretch back through generations, the estate is a true testament to tradition and excellence. Today, brothers Michel and Dominique Guyon carefully steward the legacy of this remarkable 119-acre domaine, a shining example of a family-run estate at the heart of Burgundy.
Gevrey-Chambertin is a large wine-producing village in the Côte de Nuits. The Domaine GUYON wine area for Gevrey-Chambertin “La Justice” covers 2.58 hectares (6.37 acres). Hand-harvested, the grapes are then carried in small boxes and sorted out in the vineyards and upon arrival at the winery. Long fermentation during 20 days in wooden open vats, with punching down of the cap and temperature control. Ageing in oak barrels (30% new oak) and estate bottling after 18 months.
Very nice ruby robe with morello cherry aromas. Very round and well-balanced, powerful, rich and fleshy. Silk-textured, this racy wine can be kept for 10/15 years.
