Gevrey-Chambertin “Cuvée Cœur de Roy Très Vieilles Vignes” 2023 is one of the domaine’s signature village wines, and in Dugat-Py terms, it drinks far above its appellation. The fruit comes from several tiny parcels, including Epointures, Combe du Dessus, Jouise, and Les Marchais, with vines ranging from roughly 50 to 115 years old.

The 2023 is deep, concentrated, and remarkably refined, showing cassis, dark cherry, peony, violet, pepper, spice, and stony minerality. About 75% whole clusters and only 20% new oak give the wine freshness and aromatic lift while preserving the old-vine fruit. The palate is fleshy and powerful but carries beautifully fine tannins and vibrant acidity.

For collectors, this is a particularly compelling Dugat-Py: Grand Cru intensity in a Gevrey-Chambertin village wine, with the concentration and longevity of the domaine’s old vines but enough freshness to keep it elegant.
