Domaine Henri Gouges Les Pruliers, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru, France 2022

Located on the South hillside of Nuits Saint Georges, our two parcels are assembled during vinification for a total surface of 1,8 hectare. This Premier Cru extends in the middle of hillside between 240 and 260 meters of altitude, where we can find a large complexity of rocks, from the flush rock to the screes coming from the top of the hillside. With vines of an average age of 50 years, the Premier Cru Les Pruliers is an intense and robust wine which has a beautiful capacity to ageing.

"The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru was cropped at 22hL/ha due to the hail and matured in 25% new oak. It is quite concentrated on the nose with dense red fruit, although it lacks the amplitude of Gouges's other cuvées, I suspect hail denuded complexity. The palate is well-balanced with a rounded texture, no hard edges here. It is smooth and quite sensual, with licorice tinge and mainly black fruit towards the finish. Afford it 4-5 years in bottle, but don't set expectations to "max," and you'll enjoy this wine." Vinous 91-93
