Domaine Lagille Fleur de Meunier Rose, Champagne, France NV
First, are the roots. Vincent and Maud strongly feel this heritage. “We have been in Treslon since 1818. Winegrowers since the 17th century. I don't even know if it would be possible to imagine us anywhere else than here. This is a form of obviousness. Something that is not questionable” explains Vincent. Maud and Vincent are brother and sister, with a difference of age of 13 years. Maud was the first to join the estate, in 2002. At that time, Bernard and Marie continue to run the domain which they took over in 1974. Her desire is clear: taking care of the vine.
The Lagille estate currently covers 7.20 hectares, planted with 55% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnays and 15% Pinot noir. In 2019, Maud and Vincent took the decision to convert the whole domain to organic viticulture. As a reminder, it is necessary to go through a phase of four years of conversion to obtain certification in organic viticulture.
Uniquely produced from Pinot Meunier, as per our single-varietal tradition, this rosé combines roundness, freshness and length. 15 to 25% red wine from old vines, aged in barrels, are used to obtain this cuvée.
