Champans, Volnay Premier Cru 2023 comes from one of Volnay’s most esteemed mid-slope vineyards, known for combining power with finesse. Farmed biodynamically and made from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine shows a refined yet structured profile, with aromas of red and dark cherry, violets, subtle spice, and a distinct limestone-driven minerality. On the palate it is precise and energetic, balancing ripe fruit with bright acidity and finely grained tannins, leading to a long, savory finish. More muscular than some Volnay crus, Champans in 2023 offers both immediate appeal and excellent aging potential.

"The 2023 Volnay Les Champans ler Cru has a delineated, intricate bouquet that opens beautifully in the glass. It is surprisingly mineral-driven given the warmth of the season, with the terroir really coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly edgier tannins compared to the Taillepieds.
