G. B. Burlotto Langhe Nebbiolo, Piedmont, Italy 2024
G. B. Burlotto is a historic Verduno based Barolo producer working in a firmly traditional style, led today by Fabio Alessandria. Fermentations are typically carried out with native yeasts, including the estate’s notable use of whole-cluster fermentation, followed by long macerations and aging in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks. The wines are defined by low extraction, high toned aromatics, and fine-grained tannins, emphasizing site transparency and lift over structure and weight.
Langhe Nebbiolo 2024 is a refined, traditional expression of Nebbiolo sourced from estate vineyards around Verduno. Made with native fermentations and aged in large neutral oak botti, it emphasizes purity and site transparency over weight or extraction. The 2024 vintage is bright and aromatic, showing red cherry, rose petal, and subtle spice, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity that give the wine lift and precision. It’s a transparent, high toned style of Nebbiolo that captures the house’s signature elegance in a more approachable, early drinking format while still maintaining serious structure.
