Echezeaux Grand Cru 2023 is a rare and compelling Grand Cru from one of Nuits-Saint-Georges' historic and most respected domaines. The estate's rigorous, traditional approach produces Pinot Noir with remarkable depth, structure, and longevity, while the 2023 vintage brings an appealing combination of ripe fruit, freshness, and concentration. Expect aromas of black cherry, raspberry, violet, dark flowers, spice, and earthy sous-bois, followed by a powerful yet refined palate with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional length. A serious, age-worthy Echezeaux that beautifully combines the prestige of Grand Cru Burgundy with the distinctive, structured style of Henri Gouges.

As you pour this magical elixir it doesn't crash into the glass; it glides in. The color is this gorgeous, luminous, dangerous ruby—not dark like a Syrah, but clear and deep like a vintage leather jacket that’s seen a few knife fights.

The nose doesn't give it all up. Gouges doesn't do cheap parlor tricks. But give it five minutes to breathe, let it warm up in the glass, and it hits you: wild black cherries, damp forest floor, blood orange peel, and that faint, intoxicating smell of crushed limestone after a summer rain. It smells like history. It smells like a piece of earth that costs more per square meter than a Manhattan penthouse.

It’s got weight, but it moves across your palate with grace. It doesn't clobber you; it seduces you, pulls you in, and then leaves you hanging. It’s serious. It’s intellectual, visceral, and slightly arrogant.

But don't be arrogant and slap down the coin for this killer vino that only one barrel was made and rarer than DRC Echezeaux that made 20K+ bottles.
