Marthe Henry is a small, artisanal wine producer based in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. A former journalist and granddaughter of Meursault winemaker Pierre Boillot, she launched her own label around 2017 after training in viticulture and working with respected Burgundy domaines. The estate is very limited in production and sources fruit from a mix of family parcels and trusted growers, increasingly farmed with organic practices. Her winemaking style is minimalist and hands-off, with native fermentations, long aging in oak (often around 18 months), and very low intervention in both white and red wines. The result is a range of elegant, pure, and energetic Burgundy wines that emphasize freshness, texture, and transparent expression of terroir.
Hautes-Côtes de Beaune 2022 is a bright, elegant expression of high-altitude Burgundy that emphasizes freshness, purity, and drinkability. Aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and cranberry are lifted by floral notes and a subtle hint of earth and spice. The palate is light to medium bodied, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a clean, energetic finish that reflects the cooler hillside vineyards above the Côte de Beaune. Crafted with a focus on precision and minimal intervention, this is a charming, modern style Burgundy perfect for guests seeking an approachable yet authentic Pinot Noir with freshness and finesse.
