Massaya Gold Reserve Rouge, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon 2007
Massaya, a premier Lebanese winery, is renowned for its exceptional Lebanese wine and Arak, produced in the picturesque regions of Faqra and Bekaa, Lebanon. Founded by brothers Sami and Ramzi Ghosn, the name Massaya is the Lebanese Arabic word for "twilight".
The 2007 Massaya Gold Reserve Rouge is a red blend from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, made with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and a 50% mix of Mourvèdre and Syrah. It's described as a full-bodied wine with notes of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones, featuring elegant oak treatment and drying tannins. It has a powerful bouquet that opens to dark fruits like fig, cinnamon, and vanilla, with a palate that develops with notes of licorice and sandalwood.
