A world-class, small production Chardonnay from Maxem, the acclaimed project of winemaker Sam Kaplan and chef Nancy Kaplan. Sourced from the coveted UV Vineyard, just six miles from the Pacific Ocean, this wine marries coastal freshness with remarkable richness and precision. Aromas of poached pear, white peach and elderflower lead into layers of citrus, toasted almond and delicate baking spice. A silky, beautifully textured palate is energized by vibrant acidity, finishing with exceptional length and mineral finesse. Aged for 15 months in approximately 80% new French oak, this is an impressive expression of Sonoma Coast Chardonnay that delivers the depth and sophistication Burgundy lovers seek, while retaining its unmistakable California identity.

"Grapes for the 2023 Chardonnay UV Vineyard were harvested on October 2, and the wine matured for 15 months in around 80% new French oak. It has detailed aromas of poached pear, elderflower, panna cotta and holiday spice. The medium-bodied palate has a satiny texture and precise, slowly expanding flavors. It’s balanced by vibrant acidity and has a very long, elegant finish." Wine Advocate 96
