An exceptional single vineyard Pinot Noir from Maxem, the small-production project of winemaker Sam Kaplan and chef Nancy Kaplan. Sourced from the celebrated UV Vineyard, farmed by the late Ulises Valdez, this wine captures the cool climate precision and remarkable depth of the Sonoma Coast. Aromas of pomegranate, wild berries and dried flowers unfold into layers of forest floor, pipe tobacco and exotic spice. The palate is elegant yet concentrated, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and an extraordinarily long finish. Produced in just 275 cases, this is a serious, age worthy Pinot Noir that delivers the complexity and finesse Burgundy lovers crave, with a distinctive California identity.

"The 2023 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard is bursting with scents of pomegranate liqueur, pipe tobacco, dried flowers, forest floor and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and seamless with concentrated, detailed flavors. It’s framed by luxurious, silky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a very long, latent finish. It should be long lived in the cellar." Wine Advocate 97
