Morgen Long Koosah Vineyard Chardonnay, Eola-Amity Hills, USA 2024
A spectacular single vineyard Chardonnay from Seth Morgen Long, one of Oregon’s most dedicated specialists in the variety. Sourced from organically farmed, high elevation Koosah Vineyard, the wine comes from steep, rocky volcanic-basalt soils that deliver exceptional mineral intensity and precision. The 2024 vintage opens with vivid aromas of lime oil, lemon curd, candied ginger and pear skin, layered with struck match, flinty smoke and savory spice. The palate is bone dry, muscular and beautifully chiseled, combining impressive concentration and texture with electric acidity and a long, saline finish. Aged for 12 months in French oak followed by six months in stainless steel on the lees, it balances richness with remarkable tension. A profound, age-worthy Oregon Chardonnay for serious Burgundy lovers and collectors.
"An exceptional vintage of the 2024 Chardonnay Koosah Vineyard, harvested between September 29 and October 1, it pours a brilliant yellow color and reveals soaring aromas of jasmine, peach, mango, and subtle oak spice. Raised in 74% new oak, it remains beautifully balanced, with lush richness, superb purity, vibrant acidity, and remarkable length. It is already stunning today but has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 12 or more years." Jeb Dunnuck 97
