From Juan Mercado, the founder behind cult Napa Valley producer Realm Cellars, RIISE is redefining what California’s Rhone inspired wines can be. The 2021 Doyen is a beautifully layered, Grenache-led blend sourced from acclaimed Paso Robles vineyards, combining richness and concentration with impressive elegance. Aromas of ripe blackberries, red cherry and violets lead into notes of cinnamon, cracked pepper, savory herbs and forest floor. Full-bodied and richly textured, the palate is balanced by vibrant acidity, refined tannins and a long, polished finish.

"The 2021 Doyen is more Grenache-based and is mixed with 18% Mourvèdre and 17% Syrah that was mostly destemmed and raised in 25% new 500-liter barrels. Red and black fruits, toasted spice, pepper, and savory herb and floral notes all define this beauty, and it's full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Coming from a blend of the Shadow Canyon, Catapult, and Paderewski vineyards, it has a beautiful mix of richness and elegance. It will stand toe-to-toe with the finest Southern Rhônes out there and should have 10-15 years of prime drinking." Jeb Dunnuck 97
