Roagna’s Albesani 2020 is a hauntingly elegant Barbaresco from one of Neive’s historic crus. Dried cherry, redcurrant, violet and crushed flowers lead into layers of mint, eucalyptus, graphite, tobacco and earthy spice, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity giving the wine remarkable precision and length. This is Nebbiolo in its most graceful and aristocratic form. Perfumed, mineral, savory and beautifully transparent to its terroir. With only roughly 4,400 bottles produced, Roagna’s Albesani is a serious collector’s Barbaresco and a spectacular bottle for the cellar.
