Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a beautifully traditional, small-production Sonoma Cabernet that reflects Fred Scherrer’s signature understated style. Sourced entirely from the family’s estate vineyard at the base of the Vaca Mountains, it’s aged patiently in French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve purity and structure. The 2018 shows cassis, black cherry, plum, cocoa, and subtle savory notes of tobacco and earth, all carried on a firm but polished tannic frame. More restrained and “old-world” in feel than most California Cabernet, it’s balanced, food-friendly, and built for graceful aging.
