Stella di Campalto Podere San Giuseppe 'Bacia - Amore', Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Italy 2019 1.5L

Some of the most sought after wines in Tuscany come from the cellars of Stella di Campalto! Stella has farmed organic since 1996 and has been biodynamic since 2002. The small estate in the southeast corner of the Montalcino zone near Castelnuovo dell’Abate, originally known as Podere San Giuseppe until it had been abandoned during World War II and brought back to life by Stella, are routinely the most elusive releases of Brunello di Montalcino. Stella has an irregular release schedule, only when “they are ready” -will she release them from her cellar.
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Bacia is deep and complex, mixing black cherries with cedar box, autumnal spice, mentholated herbs and a dusting of cocoa. This speaks in bass tones, with dark, saturating red fruit and minerals excited by a core of brisk acidity and a balsamic tinge that defines the close. It finishes with tremendous length, staining and intense, leaving a primary concentration of cranberry and blackberry to mingle with sweet tannins. The 2019 Bacia is a bombshell beauty. Of note, this bottling may be renamed prior to its release in March 2025." Vinous 97- 99 pts
